PSA: Peggy O’ Season is Here

Spring brings all good things. Flowers, baseball, grilling, patios and of course, the 2026 season of Peggy O’s food truck.

That’s right. Patrick and Stephanie, the brains behind Peggy O’s are back at it. With the trippy yellow school bus revved up and rearing to go, patios across Central Iowa will be that much more delicious now that the grill is going and the mind-blowing chalkboard of snacks and entrees is back up and running.

I can almost hear the doubters out there now, saying things like, “Aww, I thought this was going to be a post about the Grateful Dead, man…”

Well, my doubting Thomas’s, it sort of is. See, most of the menu features pay tribute to an acclaimed Grateful Dead song or associated Deadhead connection. From the almighty Peggy O, with pulled pork and Hatch green chile sauce, to the Tennessee Jed BBQ pulled pork to the Grateful Dawg, this yellow bus brings you everything your heart could desire.

Here’s the important info:

Straight from the mouths of its founders: “Peggy-O’s is more than a BBQ food truck. We make flavorful, made-from-scratch food that you cannot find anywhere else! Owners and chefs, Patrick and Stephanie sell creative smoked meat sandwiches, vegetarian and vegan wraps and Frito Pie, garden-fresh sides, and gluten-free options. We proudly serve heritage breed Duroc and Berkshire pork that’s raised on local sustainable farms. Everything is made from scratch, and we grow some of the produce in our organic garden and buy from local farmers when possible. Come and check out the converted short school bus! Peggy-O’s serves at breweries, festivals, farmers markets, corporate lunches, graduation parties, and other private events. Call or email to book us for your event!”

Hold up, wait. Is this an advertisement for a local food truck?

Not even close. It’s the finest propaganda you’ve ever let your eyes feast upon. Just take a moment and indulge in the food pics from Patrick and Stephanie. Then run, don’t walk, to the nearest patio where Peggy O’s is ponied up to and get in line.
