Summer 2024. Chip says, “Want to play a charity show?”
I’m thinking of course I do. That’s the bread and butter. Let’s do some good in the world, make people happy and be bearers of joy.
“Cool. We’ll play and then the wrestling match will start.”
The What?!?
Intrigued and always up for a gig, I agreed.
The setup was in Bondurant next to a giant rec plex. As we pulled up, the crew that puts on the wrestling bonanza was setting up the ring in the middle of the field.
A shade tent was pitched for us and we pulled some extension cords out to the middle of the field and started setting up the PA.

The evening would unfold as pure Americana in the best way possible. The community showed up to once again celebrate a life lost too soon, a dream and a promise was being realized event after event and a bunch of good folks got together on a hot summer evening, listened to some folk music and watched one of the finest wresting exhibition’s I’d ever witnessed under a setting sun.
We even got to meet a donkey that delivered ice cold drinks to patrons. I was fortunate to remain on the donkey’s good side.
