Quick update, friends. I’m getting closer to releasing some new music.
A few months ago, I decided on six songs I would record and release. All self-produced. Which means that the hold-up has largely been on me. That’s not a bad thing, and since there really aren’t any expectations yet of what I’m about to drop, I’m not feeling too much pressure about it.
From the instruments standpoint, I’m all wrapped. I just have to finish the vocals, which for me is the tedious part. If I’m being honest, and transparent, I’ve never thought I had a great singing voice. It’s part of the reason why for years, I’ve been happily standing to the side, supporting other other friends as they write and release music. I don’t really know where my anxiety around singing came from, but for years, I’ve considered the bass as my voice and been pretty happy around doing so.
That said, I think I have some cool songs that I’ve written. There are more, but this is just a starting point.
I’ve wrapped up a song called, Sands of Time. I wrote this one a while back and I’m excited to get it out there. A big thank you to a few friends who I’ve shared it with to get feedback. Nick, Kate, Madison and Chip, I appreciate you all. I knew I could get some really constructive feedback from my friend, Kate. She’s into all kinds of music, but especially classical music and has a helluva an ear for quality sound. Kate, I took the notes seriously and hope you’ll be even more impressed with the final mix.
Anyway, just a quick update. See y’all soon.
